BPCA/NYS is strategically positioned within
the expanding building performance industry
to be a voice for building performance
professionals. BPCA has recently grown its
membership over the last two years to over
300 individuals throughout NYS. In addition
to our work as a trade association for
professionals to share and develop best
practices in applied building science, we
have become a strong representative for our
membership at both the state and national
levels in our industry. This has been a
critical role given all of the new programs
emerging in New York State and from the
federal government.
As a part of the organization’s commitment
to supporting the building performance
industry BPCA/NYS has begun to increase
membership communications and produce a
monthly newsletter. These newsletters and
its stories will be evolving. We would
appreciate your feedback on these
newsletters and would be glad to provide
additional information as requested.

Efficiency First - NYS
BPCA/NYS and the national Efficiency First organization partnered to create the NYS Chapter of Efficiency First (“Efficiency First–NYS”). The major advantage of this partnership is that Efficiency First-NYS can lobby and advocate in ways that BPCA cannot due to the limitations of our not-for profit status. Efficiency First–NYS can be a powerful voice in helping to shape energy policy in NYS that represents the concerns of home performance contractors, home energy raters and other related professionals.
We are encouraging all BPCA/NYS members to join Efficiency First to help build and sustain the momentum of our industry, both in NYS and nationally. This may be one of your most valuable business investments this year. This is your time to help make building performance the new American standard for retro-fitting homes to be more energy efficient, durable and safe well into the future.
Joining the many other BPCA members that are already Efficiency First members will provide you access to marketing materials and updates on industry standards and policies, industry best practices such as finance, workforce development, and business models from the newly created Home Performance Resource Center.
