BPCA/NYS Annual Meeting
Plus Two Optional Training Sessions
April 12, 2010 -- Albany, NY
The BPCA/NYS Annual Meeting will be held on Monday, April 12, 2010 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at the Albany Marriott at 189 Wolf Road. The purpose of the meeting is to elect 8 new BPCA/NYS Board Members and a Slate of Officers. Attendance at the meeting is free. After the meeting, you are welcome to join us for some informal networking at a Dutch-Treat Dinner at the Marriott Restaurant.
Optional Training Sessions
Before the Annual Meeting, BPCA is offering two optional training sessions. If you would like to attend one of the Training sessions, please Pre-Register Online below so we can plan on the number of attendees for each session.
- April 12, 2010 -- 1:00 to 3:45 p.m., prior to BPCA/NYS’s Annual Meeting
- Cost for Session #1 or Session #2 is $25 for members, $50 for non-members
- Sign-ins for both sessions begin at 12:30 p.m. Please eat lunch prior to your arrival.
- All three events will be held at the Albany Marriott, 189 Wolf Road, Albany, NY 12205
Session #1:
REMRate Advanced with Robert
Kahabka
1:00 - 3:45 p.m.
Who: for Certified Raters using REM/Rate Software
What: This session will focus on some of the advanced features of
software modeling, including “Improvement Analysis” for proposed upgrades,
comparative analysis for building where proposed upgrades have increased or
reduced the square footage and volume of the conditioned space, Customer
Reports, Work Scope Development, the Interpretation of selected reports to
verify code compliance and accuracy of modeling details.
A REM file, to be used in this demonstration of software features, will be
provided to all registered attendees. Please come early so we can download it to
your computer.
Attention Raters: You MUST bring your laptop computer, with the latest
version of REM/Rate, to this session.

Session #2:
Energy Audits & IR with Gary Goodman
1:00 - 3:45 p.m.
Who: Home Performance Contractors
What: If you do final inspections, training or energy assessments, this
may be the next tool to consider. Contractors and crews benefit from feedback on
the effectiveness of their installations. Building problems can be more easily
explained visually, often resulting in sales that may otherwise slip through the
cracks.
By attending this session, participants will:
- Understand the basics of infrared diagnostics in residential structures
- Find out how not to be fooled by what you think you see
- Recognize the value of using Infrared Thermography for building inspections and discover the benefits of using the latest infrared technologies, especially lower-cost cameras
CEUs: BPI - 1.25 units
